FAQ's
1. How can I get from Puerto Plata airport to your hotel, and do you offer arranged airport pickup?
The taxi cab service at Puerto Plata airport is regulated and safe. The standard fare to Cabarete is US$35. Most taxi drivers will know where B & B Brisas Doradas is located, in the area of Camino del Sol, Cabarete. Given the reliability of the taxi service at the airport, we do not customarily make arranged pickups.

2. My flight comes in to Santiago or Santo Domingo. How should I get to Cabarete?
If you are planning on doing a fair amount of traveling around while you are in the Dominican Republic, you may want to rent a car at your arrival airport. The roads from Santo Domingo through Santiago and Puerto Plata to Cabarete are good highways. The bus service, either Metro or Caribe Tours, is inexpensive and comfortable if you are not planning to rent a car. Currently both bus lines drop you off in Sosúa, and a short taxi ride to Cabarete.

3. Do I need a car in Cabarete, and do you have parking?
Most people walk around Cabarete, or take a motoconcho (motorbike taxi) for about RD$20. Finding parking on the main street can be a challenge, so even folks who arrive at the B & B by car generally leave the car parked until they leave Cabarete. Parking for B & B guests is available in front of Brisas Doradas entrance, in sight of our 24- hour security system.

10. When do I have to pay for my hotel bill?
An advance deposit may be required to confirm a reservation. We are not set up to take credit cards, so deposits are made through bank transfer or Paypal using a credit card. We prefer payment in cash (either Dominican Pesos, U.S. Dollars or Euros) upon arrival, or within a day of arrival. Paying upfront is common practice in the DR for the many hotels that don’t take credit cards and thus cannot guarantee the payment with a card impression upon arrival. If the length of your stay is uncertain, periodic payments are accepted. If you have been offered a discounted rate based on a planned lengthy stay, payment upfront is a condition for the discount.

11. How is the crime situation?
The most common crime affecting tourists, basically male tourists, is pickpocketing at night by over-friendly local girls. We do not recommend that you carry your passport but leave it in your room safe. Do not carry too much cash with you. There are several ATMs in town. Very few large establishments accept credit cards.
